Funny ha ha or funny weird? You decide.

Dinner tonight was delicious! Even though it wasn't pasta, it was decadent nonetheless. On the menu -- NY Strip with Sage Garlic Butter, Crispy Garlic Polenta Cakes and Sweet Potatoes with Caramelized Onions. For dessert? I think that I'll have a cornmeal cookie and a Kahlua and Cream. I think that I'll sleep very well tonight!

Doesn't it look tasty? Matt thought so!

Oh, Joy!

Look what arrived in the mail today! My favorite day of the month is the day that my Martha Stewart Living lands in my mailbox.

I'm excited to go through the magazine this evening to gather ideas for holiday goodies, crafts and gifts! Weeee.....

Amazon Goodies

I recently received Anna Maria Horner's new book Seams to Me: 24 Reasons to Love Sewing in the mail from the Amazon.com fairy. Yay for snail mail! It's loaded with wonderful project ideas and includes some great sewing tips for those of us who are new or rusty at sewing. If you're not familiar with Anna Maria, she's a fabric designer, artist and super mom. She runs a really fun and colorful blog that I love to read.

Tis the Season

For those of you that read this blog regularly, you may have noticed my admiration for Amy Butler. Her creativity and fabulous fabric always inspire me. She's just released some holiday-inspired patterns (FREE!) that have inspired me to start thinking about the holidays! (I know -- It's not even Thanksgiving yet.)
Since this is the first year that we will have our very first Christmas tree, I'm going to try tree skirt pattern. I'm not sure what fabrics I'll select but I'm sure that I will be able to find something fun at Craft-O-Rama.

Holiday Ornament Swap!

This year's Holiday Ornament Swap is here! You may be wondering what the heck that is. Basically, you make 10 Christmas ornaments and send them to 10 people. In return, you'll get 10 funky, fabulous ornaments from all over the world! It's a great excuse to get crafty and a wonderful way to connect with other crafters. I just peeked at my list and I'll be swapping with folks from all over the US and the Netherlands. I can't wait!

In the spirit of recycling and sustainability, I've decided not to buy anything to make my ornaments this year. I have a lot of crafting supplies in my studio, so I'm going to have to come up with a creative way to use them. Once I get going, I'll be sure to post photos here.

Last year, I made these sweet felt mittens. Aren't they cute? Check out other ornaments from last year on our flickr page.
